Time for a shift, a chance in a million

Wow, it's been some absence.
Last I posted my blog here was nearly than 4 months ago...
During such time we had to shut down our office, all of us shifted to work from home.  There are merits to remote work from home and also demerits.  Either way, we need a good self-discipline to complete anything.  There will be some changes.
The evaluation of our work life would shift more to the outcome of our work rather than work attitude or work impressions for those would be unseen if done remotely.
They say from the next year how people would choose places to work will also change.  How many days we have to come in to offices in a week was never until now a selection criteria of companies we want to work, but it will.
For those of us considering where to buy or rent a house, it will be also different.  If working remote is to become the new norm, there would be no necessity living in a house small yet close to Tokyo.
However we also noticed and nearly got defeated by this strong societal unwinding momentum.  Forces to bring back the well-used custom of working late at offices, commuting everyday on crowded trains.  And just when we though we nearly let in the old style to take over, another wave of virus started to hit us again increasing the number of people infected.
So today's conclusion.
We need to remind ourselves that it needs to be us that should make our new norm.
If we just follow whoever have the loudest voice, or let our new norm to be in the hands of others, then so it will be.
We have to remind ourselves that this is an issue of each and every one of us.
In the end whatever comes out of this crisis, whatever this new norm may be, it is us who have to live in the midst of it.
We really have to get hold of our future here.
