Indeed there was this small interview article on Nikkei Newspaper February 3rd, 2020 on Sergio Mendes from Brazil. Mendes needs no introduction, a Brazilian musician with cover version songs of “Mas Que Nada” which became a breakthrough hit worldwide, considered to be one of the leading figures of making Bossa Nova truly global since 1960s.

In the interview he says the sources of his creativity
are curiosity and inquisitive mind toward new types of music. 78 years old still absorbing a lot, when asked
what the greatest appeal of Brazilian music is, replied it is the unforgettable
melody with sensual rhythm that is making it all too romantic. It is important to note that Mendes emphasises it is the diversity of Brazil created the Brazilian music.
