Occupational hazard?
A mayor of Nagoya, a city of top five population of Japan, a home to a few of largest corporations of Japan was reported to have bitten a gold medal won by a member of Japan softball team.
Later he was criticised for this insensitive act.
The Mayor then went to HQ of Toyota, a company which the softball player whose medal was bitten belongs, to apologise for the stunt.
It is reported he was not allowed inside the premises and therefore his subordinates had to submit the letter of apology instead.
His insensitive and appalling stunt amid the pandemic situation is not worthy of mentioning, put aside that, I thought how his subordinates of the municipal government, his undermen were feeling when the mayor, their boss, was banned on entering a building.
They must have been literally running around doing their best to have their mayor's letter submitted to Toyota, the biggest company in the region, I mean in Japan.
When it comes down to that kind of situation probably we have no alternatives to run around for your boss and since I too have similar experiences all too much, I just can't stop feeling sorry for these guys.
I wonder those men's motivation to resolve the situation, this tendency to serve their master is generally stronger with those government officers than people working in private sectors.
Either way, a shameful day it has been for the honourable undermen today.
Truly an occupational hazard.
